In August of 2008 my daughter, Harper Mae, was born. I went on a 3 month maternity leave from my job as a middle school art teacher. 3 months turned into 6 months, which turned into the school year and when the fall of 2009 rolled around I just couldn’t convince myself to go back. I wanted to be home with Harper as much as possible, but I also wanted to work.
Around then, my step-son was about to become a Bar Mitzvah. I created a montage video of pictures for his party. People liked what I had done and I slowly started to make a name for myself. I got so busy I needed a website and instead of hiring someone to build it for me, I decided to tackle it myself. I felt like I could use my creative and my analytical sides at the same time. You can see my first website here.
Eventually, I stopped the montage business all together and focused on creating websites using Joomla at first and then Wordpress. I’m in a groove now. Plenty of business to keep my mind curious and creative and plenty of time to show up at my daughter’s activities and meet her when she steps off the bus. My work is clean, beautiful and modern. I have always been an artist and I take pride in every small detail that makes a website look good.
